1. About these terms
EduRit is a school management platform run by Ritik Maurya (Founder & CEO), from Mumbai, Maharashtra 400033. In these pages, "EduRit", "we", and "us" mean Ritik Maurya, trading as EduRit.
These terms are an agreement between EduRit and the school that uses EduRit, including the trust, society, or company that runs it. The written quote a school accepts, and our privacy policy, form part of this agreement, and together they are the whole agreement between us.
A school accepts these terms when its authorised representative accepts a quote or starts a trial. That person confirms they are 18 or over and authorised to bind the school and the body that runs it.
2. The service
EduRit is a web-based school management system. Each school gets its own address (for example, yourschool.edurit.in) where its staff, parents, and students sign in. The features available are the ones in the product and in the school's accepted quote. We improve them over time and will give notice before removing a feature a school relies on.
3. Licence and ownership
During its trial or plan, we give the school a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use EduRit for running the school. We keep all rights in the software. The school keeps all rights in its data and lets us host and process it only to provide EduRit.
4. Free trial
New schools can try EduRit free for 14 days, with every module, for up to 50 students and 10 staff. No payment details are needed.
At the end of the trial, the school can move to an annual plan. If it doesn't, access stops, and we remove the trial school's data from our live systems within 30 days, or sooner if the school asks.
5. Accounts and users
The school decides who gets access and with which role, and is responsible for keeping its users' details accurate and their passwords private. Tell us straight away if you think an account has been misused.
The school confirms it has the right to put its records into EduRit, including any consent from parents or guardians that the law requires for children's data.
6. Plans, fees, and refunds
After the trial, EduRit is provided on a yearly plan. The plans, prices, and student and staff limits are the ones on our pricing page when the school pays, unless a written quote the school accepts says otherwise. Prices exclude GST, which is added as the law requires.
Refunds and cancellations follow our refund and cancellation policy (edurit.in/refund).
If we ever stop offering EduRit, we will give schools at least 90 days' notice and a copy of their data.
7. School data and data processing
The school owns its data. Under the DPDP Act, the school is the Data Fiduciary and EduRit is its Data Processor. We process school data only to provide EduRit, as described in our privacy policy, and we:
keep it confidential and limit our own staff's access to what is needed to run and support the service (support staff view an account only to resolve a support request or when the school asks, and every such session is logged); protect it with reasonable security safeguards; use only the service providers listed in our privacy policy, and tell schools before adding a new one; tell the school without delay about any personal data breach affecting its records; and help the school respond to requests from parents, students, and staff about their data.
When a school leaves, it can ask us for a copy of its records, which our team prepares in Excel or CSV format within 30 days. We then remove the school's records from our live systems within 90 days of the request, and from backups as they expire, except anything the law requires us to keep.
8. Acceptable use
Schools and their users must not use EduRit to break the law; upload content that is obscene, defamatory, harmful to children, or infringes someone else's rights; upload data they have no right to share; try to access another school's data or any part of EduRit they are not authorised to use; disrupt, probe, or overload the service; copy, resell, or reverse-engineer the software; or upload malware.
We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell the school why.
9. Availability and support
We work to keep EduRit available and secure, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may need short maintenance windows, and will try to schedule them outside school hours. We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events outside our reasonable control.
Support is through Help & Support in the dashboard or by email to support@edurit.in; we usually reply within one working day.
10. Ending the agreement
A school can stop using EduRit at the end of its plan by telling us in writing. We may end or suspend the service for non-payment or a serious breach of these terms, after giving notice and a reasonable chance to put it right.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, EduRit is provided as it is, and our total liability to a school for any claim is limited to the fees that school paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
12. Transfer of this agreement
We may transfer this agreement to a successor of the business, including a company that takes over EduRit, by telling the school in writing; the school's rights under these terms stay the same.
13. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the new version here with a new date, and tell school administrators by email or in the dashboard at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect.
If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Mumbai have jurisdiction over any dispute.
